Desktop client for Facebook better than Facebook itself ?

Fishbowl was introduced to demo the release of Microsoft Silverlight 4. This app can be downloaded from here. Fishbowl gives a neat look to the whole facebook interface. It is fast in response, adds more graphical features which make the facebook experience more fun.

No more annoying side bar. It’s all up in the iconic options. Notifications appear in a cool way as well. And to view the notification you can either click the link e.g. ’status’ in this preview or just hover the pointer over ’status’ and it will automatically display the comment without you having to visit the page where the comment is !

Albums are displayed nicely as well.

Uploading pictures is also easier (it was fine in web version though).

You can get the most out of this app if you are using Windows 7. You get status updates in the icon as well as inĀ  jump list.

Overall Fishbowl may be seen as a remake of facebook with all the cool features of web app plus that of a desktop web keeping as near the real facebook as possible. However, some users may have a longer learning curve for this. Just think of this to be another overhaul of facebook interface and you’ll do fine.
