2010 Mercedes S400 with some new features

The new rear wheel drive 2010Mercedes S400 will come in the market with some new features including redesigned lights with the addition of LED day driving lights, new front and rear bumpers, full LED tail lights, latest driver assistance systems and modern innovative design.

Engine

The hybrid S400 has an electric motor with 3.5-L V6 engine. The electric motor is mounted between the engine and the transmission where it acts as a starter, without producing any choking sound. The motor keeps the battery alive by a regenerative braking system. When the throttle is lifted off, the electric motor becomes the generator.

Torque Vectoring System

Just like the Porsche torque vectoring ( PTV), this car is also equipped with the similar system which provides stability to the vehicle dynamics especially during turning.

The new hybrid will be capable of providing 295 hp accompanied by 284 lb-ft. the seven speed automatic transmission makes the car’s drive easy.

Battery

The car has a lithium ion battery pack instead of having NiMH batteries. The purpose is to get the maximum fuel efficiency with least emissions. Mercedes has become the first car with the lithium ion battery.

Headlights

The rear head lights are completely redesigned with the new feature of LED lights where as the front lights have the day driving LED lights as well.

Mileage

the new Mercedes is capable to give 29 mpg inside the city and 33 miles mpg on highway. The car can go from 0-60mph in seven seconds.

The overall design of the car makes it a real passenger car.
